Over 23,000 applications for the MBBS course have been received from students this year in 17 medical colleges in the State.

This has exceeded the number of applications (just over 18,000) sold last year, according to Sheela Grace Jeevamani, Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education. The maximum number of applications was sold in the cities, with Kilpauk Medical College topping the list.

Applications were issued from 16th May, 2011.

The last date for sale and receipt of applications was2nd June, 2011.

The merit list will be published on 21st June, 2011 and the date for commencement of the first phase of counselling is 30th June, 2011.

Application forms for the M.Sc (Medical Physics) course for 2011 – 2012 will be available online from June 1st June, 2011 to 15th June, 2011 and can be downloaded from the websites : www.tn.health.org and www.tn.gov.in

A demand draft for Rupee1000 should be drawn in favour of The Secretary, Selection Committee’ Chennai – 10 should be attached with the application, as cost of the application. SC / SCA / ST candidates are exempted from this fee.
