Being ranked among the leading B-schools of the country, NMIMS saw the participation of 112 leading companies across many different industries involved in the placement process this year. On an average, the compensation companies offered to students was Rs. 13.1 lakhs per annum. Students accepted offers from 96 of the various companies that were present.

The School of Business Management (SBM) of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai has successfully found placements for each of the students in the 2009-2010 batch.

Dr. Debashis Sanyal, dean of the School of Business Management in the NMIMS University in Mumbai, said, “This splendid season, students were able to get profiles of their choice which reflected the robust and growing economy optimism and also reaffirming the faith that recruiters reposed in the quality of students and the contemporary and ever evolving curriculum. To represent the banking and financial industry, NMIMS saw the attendance of companies such as ICICI Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Nomura Holdings, Royal Bank of Scotland, Citibank, Barclays Bank, Religare, SBI Capital Markets, India Infoline, Tata Capital, IDBI Capital, Irevna, ICICI Securities, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Bank, State Bank of India, Deutsche Bank (Operations), HSBC Global Resourcing, ICICI Lombard, Darashaw, UBS Verity Knowledge Solutions, ICICI Prudential AMC, Angel Broking, HDFC Bank, and Bank of India & Fortune Financial Services.

The FMCG/ Consumer Durables industry companies hiring were Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages (HCCB), ITC, L’Oreal, Marico, Wipro CCL, Dabur, UB Group, Reckitt Benckiser, VVF Ltd., Nutrela (Ruchi Soya), Wrigley’s, Givaudan, Godrej & Boyce, Whirlpool, and Videocon.

In the consulting industry various leading companies were hiring, such as KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, Avalon Consulting, Capgemini, Cognizant Business Consulting, and i3 Consulting.

Companies that were hiring in the information technology industry were those such as Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies, IBM, Mphasis, Accenture, KPIT Cummins, Genpact, Birlasoft, Hewlett Packard, Mindtree, IGate, Indus Valley Partners, Polaris, Tally Solutions, and Virtusa.

And even the conglomerates were hiring! They included companies such as Reliance Industries Ltd., GE, Adani Group, Larsen & Toubro, Triton Group, Manipal Group, and Welspun.

Other companies hiring were Asian Paints, Cummins, Titan, Coats India, CLP Power India Pvt. Ltd., Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL), Larsen & Toubro, Airtel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone, Times of India group, IMRB, NISM and Acme Housing, HSBC Analytics, EXL Decision Analytics, and ACG.
