Education grants in Mumbai

Three premium colleges in Mumbai are among those shortlisted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) for an education grant which will upgrade the level of higher education and teaching infrastructure that currently exists.
The center has committed to allot 60% of the total grant, and has the backing of the World Bank. It is a grant that is provided under phase II of the centrally sponsored technical education quality improvement programme ( TEQIP-2). With it, laboratories, libraries and hostels will be modernized.
Among the colleges listed are the Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCOE), Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute and Institute of Chemical Technology.
