Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam recently inaugurated a seminar for teachers. The seminar included over 400 teachers from countries such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. It was held at the Indian High School in Dubai.

In the course of his seminar, Dr Abdul Kalam stressed on the important role that teachers play in shaping children into educated and enlightened citizens by imparting quality education. He said that “India needs a large number of talented youth with higher education for the task of knowledge acquisition, knowledge imparting, knowledge creation and knowledge sharing.

“There is a large gap in the availability of employable skill. To bridge the gap, an interface is needed between the school and the school curriculum and the needs of the economy.”

“We have to start right now to realise this goal since the overall time available for such an educational growth is limited.

A good foundation in education sets the pace for a childs education later on in life. With the right teachers, the right education can be given. With the right basic education, the right higher education can be given, and with that, a child can go on to get a good job and a stable life for which he is well equipped.
