The dynamic Indian education system beckons you

India’s education sector is witnessing exponential growth. Students are spoilt for choice with numerous new colleges, poly techniques, and universities that are being established across the country. Government funded or privately owned educational institutes are in a race to provide world class education facilities. Education is high on the government’s priority list and this urgency can gauged from the fact that in their five-year plan, the government plans to open more than 30 new educational institutes of varying capacity for different fields of education.
Eight IITs are already taking in new students for the 2011 academic section. These are located in Tier II cities – Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Indore, Kota, Mandi, Patna, and Ropar. Six of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences will be established at Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh, Patna, Raipur, Jodhpur and Bhopal. A proposal is also underway to establish sixteen Central Universities in different states. One such university, the Central University of Dharmashala, Himachal Pradesh already started functioning last year.
In addition to the above plan, the Government is promoting tie-ups with international universities and colleges. Several educational institutes of countries such as the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand are already collaborating with their Indian counterparts to offer international programs in India. These tie-ups have brought international certifications in reach of Indian students. Moreover these collaborations have raised the expectations of students in terms of quality of education and has forced many old institutions to revamp their curriculum and facilities.
In light of this, if you are planning to take a graduate or post graduate course in India, be informed that you have plenty of options to choose from. Universities now offer international standards of education and open up vistas of national and international career opportunities.
