The State Government has postponed the CET engineering counselling dates following the delay in All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) permission to many of the engineering colleges. According to the original schedule, CET counselling for engineering colleges was supposed to start from June 27, 2011. However, only 140 of 189 engineering colleges have received AICTE sanctions.

An official said that AICTE is expected to permit these 40 engineering colleges only on June 28. “The government will decide the fresh dates after AICTE gives permission and we will get a clear picture.”
