HRD Minister says new vocational courses on the horizon

The Human Resource Development Minister, Kapil Sibal, recently announce that the government is in the process of developing a vocational curriculum in consultation with the industry to improve the employability of students. He said the programme was for launching a national vocational framework which would be ready soon.
Sibal said that consultations have been held with different sectors of industries. “We will have industry set the syllabi for the students so that when they complete their course employability is not a problem. We should not be dismayed with reports carried out by multi nationals but it is true large no of graduates need a lot of skill,” he added.
He also said that the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was preparing a report on this which is likely to come out soon.
