E-tutoring is touted to be the next big online business and it is now growing at a rate of 40 percent per year as per a study by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham).
Online courses are slowly gaining popularity as internet usage is growing at a fast pace. The comfort of studying from home and the option of taking courses tailor-made to suit a student’s requirements are proving to be an irresistible combination. While for most students conventional tutoring is still a first choice, there is a slow but steady migration to e-tutoring.
From an investment point of view, setting up an online tutoring centre is very simple, as you need only a basic software/hardware setup. However, online tutoring is now restricted to only urban centers; for e-tutoring to catch up in the rural areas, more awareness and access to technology needs to be created.
