ONLY CAT SCORES FOR IITs MANAGEMENT COURSES
19
Those aspiring to a management course in IIT will now need to appear for only one entrance exam (CAT) as the IITs are all set to do away with the JMET (Joint Management Entrance Test). Although IITs have been accepting both JMET and CAT scores, students usually appeared for both the tests. Since the structure and content of the two examinations are the same, IITs have planned to use only the CAT scores for the admission process. This will, hopefully, ease pressure on the students. However, it may not be possible for all management courses to opt for this process.
However, IITs will not change the evaluation process and the students will continue to be evaluated on section-wise scores rather than percentile scores as even a small difference in a section score would reflect much more on the candidate than that in a percentile score.
