ANOTHER EXAM GOES ONLINE
20
Last year the CBSE introduced the option of attempting the AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam) online, expecting 1 lakh students to take the exam. However, as the paper and pencil exam was still an option, most students opted for it and only 5,000 students took the online exam.
The next AIEEE is scheduled for April 29, 2012 and this time the exam will be held only online. The decision has been taken to plug paper leaks, especially since last year’s leak that led to students taking the test again.
Students are advised to acquaint themselves with the new method. A competent agency will be employed to ensure smooth conduct of the test. About 28,000 B.Tech seats and 1,000 B.Arch seats are filled annually through the AIEEE.
