So, the IIM-A top offer stats for the year 2011 are finally released. The report released under the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS) was audited by CRISIL. 120 firms participated in the placement process; they came mostly from banking, financial services and insurance, consumer goods, consulting, information technology, engineering, energy, telecom, and real estate.
The highest annual domestic salary offered to a PGPM (Postgraduate Programme in Management) student in the 2009–11 batch at the IIM-A stood at Rs 37 lakh and the lowest at Rs 8 lakh. The highest annual international package offered was USD 1.36 lakh while the lowest was USD 60,500.
Banking and consulting sectors remained the most sought-after this year with 94 job offers made and 93 accepted.
Two PGP courses saw a high / low offer:
1) PGP Agribusiness Management (ABM )
• High: Rs.16.2 lakh (per annum)
• Low: Rs. 7.45 lakh (per annum)
2) PGPX Programme
• High: Rs.42 lakh (per annum)
• Low: Rs. 18.4 lakh (per annum)
However, the institutes’ two-year program costing Rs.13.7 lakh fetched an average of only Rs.16.4 lakh this year.
