UKIBC Delegation to Train Youth In Kolkata
22
A delegation led by UKIBC (UK India Business skills) head Kevin Cole visited India last week to equip youth in Kolkata with employable skills. Globsyn Skills—a joint venture company of Globsyn Group and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)—worked with this delegation that had representatives from 42 skill training colleges from the UK such as A4e, City of Westminster College, Tribal, Edexcel, City and Guilds, and Hull College.
The aim of the delegation was to provide employable skills in various sectors such as media and entertainment, healthcare, food and processing, manufacturing, retail, construction, and travel and tourism. This is in tandem with the present state government’s vision for Bengal to develop in these areas. To turn this vision into reality a very large pool of skilled workers in various industries is required and Globsyn Skills has hit upon the perfect solution. This is, however, a small step and more public-private partnerships would be required to develop other such skill-building ventures. Such a skilled workforce will also attract large-scale investments for the state.
