To commemorate the 102nd birth anniversary of the C.N. Annadurai, a former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, four major schemes are being launched by the ruling state government. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the ruling party in Tamil Nadu, will be following up on their election manifesto through these schemes. The four major schemes are: distribution of the free laptops, cattle, food processors and electric fans to a considerable number of the population in the state.

The chief minister, Jayalalithaa, has created a dedicated department, Special Programme Implementation Department, to handle these schemes. This department will monitor the implementation of these schemes and coordinate with the various agencies throughout the state to ensure the schemes reach the masses.

The allocated amount for these schemes is Rs. 2,353 crores for just this year. And it has been declared that the cattle distribution scheme is being implemented in an effort to encourage growth in the State’s primary sectors and bring out the second White Revolution.

Bridging the gap between technology and common man is the purpose behind the free laptop scheme. The laptops will provide the students from all financial backgrounds an opportunity to be to be tech-savvy and skilled in digital medium.

The suppliers of these laptops have been finalized as HP and Acer, and the Directorates of School Education and Collegiate Education and the Commissionerate of Technical Education will oversee the distribution. The food-processor and the electric fan scheme will benefit the women and provide them with some relief from the strenuous physical activity.

All these four major schemes are seen by the public as an effort to increase the living standards in the state of Tamil Nadu.
