CS Exam: The Way to Crack It – CS Topper Mahima Kapoor’s Story
30
With a rank of No.1 in her first attempt in the Company Secretary Professional Programme, Mahima Kapoor gives a few simple tips to achieve success in the exam.
CS is essentially a three-level course – Foundation, Executive, and Professional. Being a graduate (BBA) with specialisation in Marketing and HR, she concentrated on the other two aspects of Executive and Professional attributes.
As there are no colleges for CS students, a good coaching institute is mandatory as it plays a very helpful role. She joined the Nahata Professional Academy in Indore. The most important subject is Company Law and she was lucky in getting a good mentor, Mr. Tanay Kasera , who has a good command in the subject. Her preparation for the exams was also facilitated with a good amount of study material, and she used only this study material. She gave herself one month’s time for self-study in the Executive and Professional levels. She had joined CS in 2009, cleared the Executive level in June 2010 and the Professional level in June 2011.
She believes that the 15 months training she did was very useful also because in the class, one gets to know about relevant laws and their provisions and how to implement these laws practically.
All in all her strategy was to have practical knowledge of all the procedures and their compliances.
To sum it up she urges students to be attentive in class and grasp laws thoroughly.
