Hospital Management Professionals in Demand
20
Healthcare is one of the most stable and booming industries in the West. Stable because it does not vary with fluctuations in the economy, nor does it run out of funds. Since the Indian government is contemplating about bringing out strong healthcare policies as in the West, demand for healthcare professionals here, which is already big, is bound to get bigger. Thus we see that a career in hospital management is slowly but surely gaining popularity. Responding to this demand, AVAGMAH Online School (AOS)––a distance education initiative of 24×7 Learning, an e-learning implementation and talent lifecycle management company––recently launched a new 2-year postgraduate program for the 2013 batch: Online MBA in Hospital Management.
Students can complete this program in an interactive and online mode through the AVAGMAH virtual campus. The program covers extensive courses from hospital architecture, planning, designing, and maintenance management, to hospital clinical service management, to epidemiology and public health system. The main objective of the program is to develop professionals with the knowledge required to administer and manage healthcare. The course is DEC and UGC approved.
Graduates of the program can find employment in hospitals, large group medical practices, clinics, mental health facilities, and multi-facility healthcare companies. One of the highlights of the program is that it is specially designed to equip working professionals with the expertise needed to obtain top positions in a company––such as assistant or associate administrator, and even CEO.
Talking to the media about the launch, Karthik K.S., CEO and founder of 24X7 Learning said, “India’s healthcare sector is estimated to be worth US $ 275.6 billion by 2020.The expansion of the healthcare market will need efficient management professionals apart from the medical and technical professionals. We have taken the initiative through AVAGMAH Online School to train and prepare individuals with the relevant knowledge and skill for the uprising sector.”
