Computers and Information Technology

Information Technology covers a very wide area that includes but is not limited to processes, computer software, information systems, computer hardware, programming languages, and data constructs.   • Minimum qualification for an undergraduate program is a 10+2 certificate in science stream and for a postgraduation program the requirement is a BE/BTech degree.
  • The various courses available in this sector are data management, networking, computer hardware engineering, database and software designing, as well as system management and administration.

Career Prospects:

  • The IT industry has great scope for people as it provides employment to technical and nontechnical graduates and has the capability to generate huge foreign exchange inflow for India.
  • Many financial institutions are providing funds for the expansion of IT and ITES businesses. The Indian Government is taking many steps to promote IT and ITES.

Remuneration:

A beginner can expect a salary of Rs. 15,000–Rs. 25,000 per month. With higher qualification and more experience, one can earn well over as Rs 40,000 per month.
