Computer hardware is the combination of different physical parts of a computer while networking involves linking a group of two or more computer systems for the purpose of sharing information and data. Hardware and networking professionals are particularly considered the favorites in the IT industry as the primary necessity here is the proper implementation and management of hardware and networks. Proliferation of Indian and foreign IT giants in the country has created a lot of scope for young aspirants in this sector.
Courses and Eligibility:
A science background at the plus-two level is preferred for students who want to enroll in different degree and diploma courses. Reputed training institutes, colleges, and universities offer programs on hardware. For networking, a degree or diploma in electronics, electrical and telecommunication is required. However, one can easily step into this field after completing MCA or BE/BTech in computer engineering.
Career Prospects:
Recent estimates have revealed that the electronics and hardware sector in India is expected to grow beyond $60 billion. The chief recruiters of hardware and networking professionals are hardware manufacturing companies, software concerns, BPO, telecom and system designing companies. Graduates can be employed in corporate houses, industries, banks, financial institutions, and schools and colleges. Besides, they can become entrepreneurs by starting their own hardware-assembling firm. Teaching in technical educational institutions is also a very good option.
Remuneration:
Starting salaries of fresh graduates may range from Rs. 8,000 to Rs 12,000 per month. Remuneration of a hardware and networking expert may reach up to Rs. 60,000 per month, depending upon qualification and experience. Those who own private consultancies enjoy good returns.
