Sales and marketing management is taught as part of the MBA curriculum at B-Schools across the country. Graduates in any discipline can apply for the two year MBA programme with specialization in marketing. One can also opt for a diploma course after completing class X. Admission is based on written examination followed by group discussion and personal interview.
Career Prospects:
A well-qualified MBA graduate can be offered positions such as marketing manager, brand manager, market research analyst, new product manager, sales manager, advertising manager, PR (public relations) director etc. Over one-third of advertising and promotions managers are employed in scientific, professional, and technical services, as well as in publishing, advertising, and other information industries. The majority of public relations managers work in insurance, educational, scientific, professional, and technical services, or in health care and social assistance services.
Remuneration:
A fresh graduate may earn around Rs 20000 to Rs 30000 per month, particularly in the private sector. At the senior level, a MBA graduate with sales & marketing as specialization can earn up to Rs.50000 to Rs. 60000 per month.
