Introduction:

Canada is a North American country consisting of ten provinces and three territories. Located in the northern part of the continent, it extends from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean. It is the world’s second largest country by total area. Canada’s common border with the United States to the south and northwest is the longest in the world. Canada occupies a major northern portion of North America, sharing the land borders with the contiguous United States to the south and the U.S. state of Alaska to the northwest.

Education in Canada:

There are multiple options available in Canada as far as higher education in the country is concerned. The universities and university colleges across the country offer a multitude of courses aimed to provide a rewarding career to the students. Universities and colleges in the country offer programs that range from fine art to biology, commerce to astronomy and media studies to religion. A Canadian degree has global recognition and is considered at par with that of American and other Commonwealth universities. In terms of quality, the programs offered in Canadian Universities are excellent and standardized. Universities offer part-time and full-time programs as well as various correspondence courses, distance learning options and student exchange programs.

Culture of Canada:

Canadian culture is a term that explains the artistic, musical, literary, culinary, political and social elements that are representative of Canada and Canadians. Canada’s culture has historically been influenced by European culture and traditions, particularly British and French. This can be seen in the bi-lingual policy of Canada with both English and French being official languages of the country. Over time, elements of the cultures of Canada’s Aboriginal peoples and immigrant populations have become incorporated into mainstream Canadian culture. It has also subsequently been influenced by American culture because of its proximity and migration between the two countries.

Climate of Canada:

Climate sculpts the landscape through heat, cold, humidity, light and wind. In Canada, the variety of landscapes shows the diversity of the climate. Canada’s climate is not as cold all year around as some may believe. In winter, temperatures fall below freezing point throughout most of Canada. However, the southwestern coast has a relatively mild climate. Along the Arctic Circle, mean temperatures are below freezing for seven months a year.

Advantages of Canada:

Canada is a democratic country with a beautiful environment, a high standard living and plenty of opportunities. It has outstanding education and welfare systems. The United Nations has ranked Canada the best place to live for the last six years consistently. Canada is also very receptive of immigrants. Canadians are hard-working, hospitable, ambitious people who are proud of their successful, independent country. Canada has traditionally offered its residents some of the cheapest housing in the developed world.

Visa Procedures to Canada:

Canada student visa is usually needed for programs that are longer than 6 months.

In general you will need the following to apply for a student visa:

  • A letter of acceptance from the school
  • Proof that you have sufficient funds to pay school fees, living expenses to study in Canada
  • Establish to Government of Canada that you will return home at the end of your studies
  • You will need to pass a medical exam if needed; and qualify as a temporary resident in Canada, including a temporary resident visa if required

After the Completed application forms along with the documents are submitted

INTERVIEW – An interview with a Canadian Visa Officer may be required. If this is the case, you will be advised in writing of the time and place for the interview.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION – The Canadian high commission will issue medical instructions. Students and accompanying dependents must pass a medical examination.

If the student and accompanying dependents are found to be in good health and there are no other concerns with the application, the Visa and Student Authorization will be issued.
