Introduction:
The Peoples Republic of China is an Asian country situated in East Asia. China is an ancient civilization, with the largest population in the world. An emerging superpower, China is bordered by a variety of countries, including India, Russia, Pakistan, and Nepal. The country also shares maritime boundaries with Japan. Extending over a large area in East Asia, the greater part of the country is mountainous, but it has a diverse topography as well.
Education in China:
Higher education in China is continuously growing, changing and developing. There are over 2,000 universities and colleges, with more than six million enrollments in total. China has set up a degree system, including Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees that are open to international students. The country offers non-degree programs as well. Higher education in China has played an important role in the economic construction, science progress and social development by providing large numbers of well-trained experts and professionals. New trends in Chinese higher education are attracting the attention of educators from around the world. Since China began to develop a Western-oriented university model at the end of nineteenth century, Chinese higher education has continued to evolve.
Culture of China:
The Culture of China is one of the world’s oldest and most complex cultures. The area in which the culture is dominant covers a large geographical region in eastern Asia with customs and traditions varying greatly between towns, cities and provinces. The Chinese culture, a culture that has evolved for thousands and thousands of years, contains rare beauty and enchantment with history. It has drawn so much interest that it has been integrated with several other cultures.
Climate of China:
The climate of China is extremely diverse, ranging from a subtropical climate in the south to a subarctic one in the north. Monsoon winds, caused by differences in the heat-absorbing capacity of the continent and the ocean, dominate the climate. It features clear temperature differences in winter and summer. In winter, northerly winds coming from high latitude areas are cold and dry, and in summer, southerly winds from sea areas at lower longitudes are warm and moist.
Advantages of China:
Education in China is quite advanced, with several higher education institutions offering world-class training in practically any field. Apart from the high quality of education, China also offers international students a reasonably low cost of living. Due to the growing numbers of international students, the Chinese government has started to offer unilateral scholarships for the foreign students. International students studying and living in China will not only gain academically, but will also learn about Chinese culture as well.
Visa Procedures to China:
The Chinese visa authorities may issue a Diplomatic, Courtesy, Service or Ordinary Visa to a foreigner according to his/her identity, purpose of visit to China and the passport type. The Ordinary Visa consists of eight sub-categories, which are respectively marked with Chinese phonetic letters L, F, X, Z, G, C, J, and D. X Visa: Issued to an applicant who comes to China for the purpose of studying or intern practice for more than six months.
All applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- A valid original passport. There must be blank visa pages in the passport. Pages for endorsements or amendments cannot be used as a visa page. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months
- One completed Chinese Visa Application Form signed by the applicant. Children’s application form can be signed by their parents or guardians
- One recent passport photograph affixed to the visa application form. Life photos, copied photos and digital photos printed on ordinary paper are not acceptable
