Introduction:

The Republic of Singapore is a Southeast Asian city-state situated off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, 137 kilometers north of the equator. Consisting of 63 islands, it is an island country located between Indonesia and Malaysia. Having a total land area of 699 km² and 193 km of coastline, Singapore is separated from Indonesia by the Singapore Strait and Malaysia by the Straits of Johor.

Education in Singapore:

Singapore is home to around 7200 multinational companies and is a favorite destination for many professionals, having over 110,000 professionals currently working here. Educational institutions in Singapore offer very high quality structured courses that promote innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Climate of Singapore:

The climate of Singapore is tropical, being hot and humid all year round with only a slight variation in temperature between winter and summer. The eastern part of Singapore falls under the rain shadow region and thus receives less rainfall than the western side. The climate in the eastern side of Singapore is slightly dryer and hotter than the western part. The Northeast Monsoon occurs from December to the early part of March. The Southeast Monsoon is received from June to September. The rainfall is slightly higher during the winter season and ranges around 260 millimeters. The summer months receives less amount of rainfall than the winter.

Advantages of Singapore:

Singapore is in fact one of the most enjoyable cities in Southeast Asia. Singapore is one of the most modern cities in the world, with extremely low crime rate as well as various modern amenities. Medical and healthcare services are also considered to be of world-class standard. It must be noted, however, that housing, education and healthcare need to be carefully considered when negotiating an expatriate package, due to their comparative high costs.

Visa Procedures to Singapore:

Student visa for Singapore may not be required depending on the length of study and nationality of the student.

The following may be required at the time of submitting the application form:

  • Completed application form
  • Four passport-size photos
  • Valid passport (For a minimum of 180 days prior to your arrival in Singapore)
  • Return travel tickets or itinerary and proof of payment for tickets. Proof of purpose of visit
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for stay
  • Proof of attendance at educational institute
  • Medical certificate from physician
  • Police clearance certificates (for any countries of residence during the previous 5 years)
