IIT-K faces accommodation crunch

KANPUR: IIT-Kanpur is facing accommodation crunch. Three new students have been asked to stay in a room in the hostels. In some rooms, two students will stay.
In order to solve the problem of accommodation, IIT-Kanpur authorities are getting new hostels constructed on the campus. It will take some time for the new hostels to become functional.
Dhande said that a seven-storey hostel for girls will come up on the campus. He informed that it will have 180 rooms and accommodate 360 girls. The girls hostel is under construction.
Similarly, a hostel for boys will also come up and is presently under construction. This hostel would be a four-storeyed one and have 500 rooms. Each room will be single bedded.
Dhande said with the construction of the two hostels, the problems of accommodation would come to an end.
