In compliance to the increasing demand for well-trained biotechnologists for research and industries in the country, National College, Tiruchi, has launched M.Sc., Biotechnology program from the current academic year.
With excellent research facilities for animal cell and plant tissue culture within its premises, the management assures that the research program would be conducted with advanced research-grade equipment used by the biotechnology industry. The coursework involves training in advanced instrumentation techniques and operation of special equipment such as Fermentor and Bioreactor. In animal cell culture technology, students will be exposed to the basics of Stem Cell Culture and ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology).
Students can also avail a concurrent PG Diploma program in the second semester in Fermentation Technology to facilitate their placement in industries.
The college boasts of faculty members with rich experience who can play a mentoring role, motivating students to prepare for jobs and examinations like Junior Research Fellowship/ Senior Research Fellowship. Students will have a chance to publish their project work in scientific journals.
