Pursuing the American Dream
08, Nov 2011
Students from several parts of Andhra Pradesh got a chance to meet with some of the top 100 universities in the United States at the American Universities and Colleges Admissions Workshop, held at Taj Krishna recently.
The attendees received firsthand information on their profile and opportunities available to pursue higher education at top-end institutions in the United States. Some of the institutions that addressed the gathering were the State University of New York, University of Massachusetts (Dartmouth, Bolton, and Lowell), Kent State University, Carnegie Mellon University, Western Kentucky University, University of New Hampshire, University of California (Riverside), and University of Advancing Technology, to name a few.
The importance of choosing the right institution and the right course was highlighted by the universities. Also, the representatives warned against unlicensed consultants and informed students about the importance of processing documents through an AIRC-approved consultancy, such as Canam Consultants. Being AIRC-certified, Canam staff understands the admission requirements and processes and guides students on the availability of OPT and CPT opportunities for the program chosen.
Since the United States is the number one destination of choice for students from Andhra Pradesh seeking higher education, the event was well attended and well received.
