CBSE Invites AIPMT Applications

Applications are invited by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the All India Pre-Medical/Dental Test (AIPMT). Those seeking admission to the 15 percent merit seats in the MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental colleges in India, except in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, will have to submit their online application through the website www.aipmt.nic.in on or before January 25 without late fee (or on or before March 2 with late fee). The website also includes detailed eligibility criteria.
Indian citizens who will be in the 17 to 25 age category as on December 31, 2012 are eligible to apply. The upper age limit is 30 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Castes.
Eligible candidates should have passed the Plus Two level with physics, chemistry, and biology (or biotechnology), scoring a minimum average of 50 percent marks (40 percent for reserved sections) and having passed in each of the other subjects, including English. Those appearing for their class 12 examination in 2012 may also apply.
The application fee is Rs.1,000 (Rs. 550 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and those physically challenged).
