38% Qualified in the Global CFA Level 1 Exam

According to the recently declared results of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program Exam, 38% candidates worldwide have passed the level 1; 49,380 candidates took the exam that was held in December 2011.

The test was held at 95 centers in 67 cities across the world. Countries and territories with the largest number of candidates who appeared in the exam include

  • The United States (11,514),
  • Mainland China (6,638),
  • India (5,135),
  • Canada (3,648),
  • The United Kingdom (2,826),
  • Singapore (1,865),
  • South Africa (1,040).

A well-qualified chartered financial analyst is greatly recognized by recruiters, investment professionals, and investors worldwide. A CFA qualification is the hallmark of a serious investor professional.

In order to become a CFA, candidates are required to

  • qualify at all 3 exam levels;
  • fulfill work experience requirements of 4 years in the investment industry,
  • sign a bond to abide by the CFA Institute of Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct,
  • apply to a CFA Institute society and become a member of CFA institute.
