Engineering Entrance Exam for BCECE Studies

Bihar CET, the common entrance test in the state, is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board for holding admissions in Engineering, Medical and Agricultural courses. The examination, BCECE or Bihar CET, was initiated by the State Government of Bihar in accordance with Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act 1995.

Eligibility

The admission seekers must fulfill all the eligibility requirements before applying for the entrance test. The Board has regularized some eligibility criteria for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE):

  • The candidates should be above 17 years of age. For the reserved categories’ candidates, there is a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
  • The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics.
  • The candidates who have appeared in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply to appear in the competitive entrance test.

Syllabus

The syllabus for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) largely depends upon the candidates’ choice of fields. The questions in the entrance test are based on the subjects of Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) examination. To prepare for the competitive entrance test, the candidates, who have taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) group, have to prepare for all the theories and basics of subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, along with Biology. On the other hand, the admission seekers, who have taken Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) group, have to do preparations for Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics of the qualifying examination.
