Engineering Entrance Exam for GAT PGT Studies
GAT PGT stands for GITAM University Admission Testfor post graduate technological programs. As the name suggests, the test is conducted for admission to post graduate technical programs (M. Tech in various disciplines and MCA). The candidates, who desire to seek admission in the programs offered by the university, should be familiar with the basic use of computer as the test is conducted through on-line mode. The aspirants possessing 50% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible. Established in 1980, GITAM University holds the status of a Deemed University, under the UGC act 1956. The university imparts education in the field of Technology, Pharmacy, Science and Management, through its various institutions.

Eligibility
Biotechnology
The candidate should have studied B.Tech. in Biotechnology/ Chemical Engineering or B.Pharm or equivalent or M.Sc. in Chemistry, with knowledge of basic Biology and Mathematics.
CAD / CAM/ MDFM
The applicant should have studied either of the following subjects BE/B.Tech./AMIE in Mechanical Production/Automobile /Marine / Aerospace or equivalent, at undergraduate level.
Computer Science & Technology/ Information Technology
The candidates, who have studied BE/B.Tech./AMIE in any branch of Engineering or M.Sc in Physics/Statistics/ Mathematics / Applied Physics/Geophysics/Computer Science, are eligible.
Digital Systems & Signal Processing/ Electronics Instrumentation/ V L S I Design
The candidate should be a graduate in any of the following- BE/B.Tech./AMIE in ECE/EEE/EIE/IC/ Instrumentation or equivalent.
Management Engineering
The candidate possessing any Engineering Degree or its equivalent is eligible.
Power Systems & Automation
The applicant should have studied B.E/B.Tech./AMIE in EEE or its equivalent, at undergraduate level.
R F & Microwave Engineering
To be eligible, the candidate needs to study B.E/B/Tech./AMIE in ECE or M.Sc in Electronics or M.Sc. (Tech) in Electronics or equivalent at graduation.
Software Engineering
The applicant should have done graduation in any of the following discipline-BE/B.Tech./AMIE in CSE/IT/ECE/EEE/EI/ CSIT or MCA or M.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.
Structural Engineering & Natural Disaster Management
The applicant should have studied BE/B.Tech./AMIE in Civil Engg. Or equivalent subjects, at under-graduate level.
Syllabus
The section of numerical data analysis will test the quantitative ability of the candidate. The syllabus includes Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra, Geometry, Inequalities, Graphic (data Interpretation) Sets, Relations and Functions etc. The section of verbal ability will test the skills of English. The syllabus includes the study of sentence completion, analogy, reading comprehension, antonyms, etc.
