Engineering Entrance Exam for IGNEAT Studies

IGNOU Engineering Aptitude Test (IGNEAT) is held every year, by Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. To conduct the test, IGNOU has collaborated with Sri Angala Parameshwari Educational Trust (SAPET). Through the test, students are admitted to courses in various branches of engineering, at the undergraduate and diploma levels, conducted by the university. IGNEAT is held at various centers of IGNOU and the candidates are given the option of answering the entrance exam in Hindi or English. Candidates are finally short listed through marks in the entrance test and counseling.

The entrance test is conducted for the following courses:

• B Tech
• Civil Engineering
• Computer Science & Engineering.
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics and Communication Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility

The University has confirmed many eligible requirements for the candidates seeking their admission in undergraduate degree as well as diploma level programs. To appear in IGNEAT Entrance Exam, one has to complete all the following eligibility criteria. .

• For the degree programs, the students must have passed higher secondary certificate examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination, from any recognized state/national Board.
• The qualifying examination must be passed by the candidates with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, from any statutory Board.
• The candidates, who are applying through lateral entry, must have done diploma in any stream of engineering or computer applications.
• For the diploma courses, the aspirants need to have passed up to 10th level examination or its equivalent of any recognized Board.
• For the lateral entry, 10+2 with ITI certificate in Engineering Trades or 10+2 vocational (Engineering streams only) must be possessed by the candidates.

Syllabus

The students, who are appearing in IGNOU Engineering Aptitude Test, should prepare the syllabus of science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2), which is recognized by any state/national Board.
