Engineering Entrance Exam for Pondicherry CENTAC JET Studies

CENTAC JET Exam is conducted by the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC), Government of Puducherry. It is popularly known as the Centralized Admission Committee Joint Entrance Test. Centralized Admission Committee Joint Entrance Test is organized for admission into the first year of BTech, BDS, BVSc & AH, BPharm, BSc (Nursing), BPT and BSc (MLT) degree courses offered at the various government sponsored colleges.

The entrance test is conducted for the following courses:

• B Tech
• BE

Eligibility

The candidate must pass their Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination from a recognized board/university, with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subject any one of the following Chemistry/Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology (Botany & Zoology) as optional subject. In case of SC/ST candidate a mere will be sufficient.

Candidate who is a permanent resident of Puducherry, and have pass their Higher Secondary (Vocational Stream in the area of Engineering & Technology) Examination, conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary examination of Tamil Nadu or equivalent examination, with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate, with vocational subjects and a related subject (Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry), are also eligible for admission to the BTech degree course. In case of SC/ST candidate a mere will be sufficient.

Syllabus

Candidate appearing for the CENTAC JET entrance test have to prepare in the following grounds – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (Zoology & Botany). However, candidates will prepare in a different combination of subjects according to their preferred filed.
