Engineering Entrance Exam for WBJEE Studies
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, prominently referred to as WBJEE, is conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEAB) for admission into undergraduate degree level Engineering & Technology courses including Dairy Technology / Pharmaceutical Technology / Agricultural Engineering, etc. as well as Medical, Dental, etc. courses in different Universities / University Departments /Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Colleges of the State of West Bengal. Merit in the state-conducted entrance examination determines the selection of the candidates. Various test centers have been allocated across the state, for the convenience of the aspirants.

The entrance test is conducted for the following courses:

Eligibility
- Marine Engineering programme: The candidates are required to pass higher secondary or equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with at least 50% marks in English either at 10th level or at 10+2 level..
- B. Tech/B.E: The applicants have to study Mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level. .
Syllabus
The syllabus for WBJEE entrance examination is based on the curriculum studied by the candidates at 10+2 level. Detailed subject wise syllabus is given below:.
Physics Syllabus
The syllabus of physics consists of following topics: Units and dimensions, Kinematics, Dynamics, Scalars and vectors, Rotational motion, Gravitation, Work, Power and Energy, Wave motion, Thermal Physics, Hydrostatics and fluid mechanics, Elasticity, Vibrations, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electromagnatism, Current electricity, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic induction and Modern Physics, which includes the study of Bohr’s atomic model, pnp and npn transistors, etc.
Chemistry Syllabus
Molecules and Chemical Arithmetic, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Gaseous state, Chemical Energetics and Chemical Dynamics, The Periodic Table and Chemical Families, Chemical Equilibria, Redox Equilibria, Physical Chemistry of Solutions Colloidal Solutions, Chemistry of metals, Halogen, Electrochemicals, Hybridization of carbon s and p bonds, Fuel Gases, Electronic effects, Alkyl halides, Alcohols, Ethers, Aldehydes and Ketones, Carboxylic Acids, Aliphatic Amines, Haloarenes, Phenols, Aromatic Aldehydes, Reaction, Introduction to Bio-molecules Carbohydrates, Aminoacids, and Nucleic acids.
Mathematics Syllabus
The topics enlisted in mathematics syllabus are as follows- Algebra, Logarithms, Complex Numbers, Permutation and combination, Quadratic Equations, Principle of Mathematical Induction, Sets, Relations and Mappings, Matrices, Probability, Straight line, Parabola, Circle, Conics, Ellipse and Hyperbola, Differential calculus, Integral calculus, Differential Equations, and Application of Calculus.
Biology Syllabus
