MBA Entrance Exam for JEMAT Studies
Joint Entrance for Management Aptitude Test, also known as JEMAT, is conducted by West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata. The entrance exam is held for admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA). The course is a two-year full time program. Final selection of the candidates is also based on marks obtained by them in the entrance examination as well as their performance in group discussion and personal interview. Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test is conducted at nearly 35 management institutes in West Bengal.

Eligibility
Joint Entrance Management Aptitude test, popularly known as, JEMAT is among the most competitive entrance examinations of the state. The candidates keen to seek admission into MBA/MMS or equivalent management program have to appear in the entrance examination. In order to appear in the entrance examination, one has to qualify below mentioned eligibility criteria:
- The candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Arts / Science / Commerce / Engineering / Technology / Medical / Dental / Agriculture or any other professional course, from a recognized university.
- The candidates who will appear in final examination (Graduation) or who have appeared and are expecting their results by September of the year of examination may also apply.
Syllabus
No specific syllabus has been designed for appearing in the entrance examination. The candidates are generally examined under three sections- English, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning.
English
In order to attempt the English section, the candidate can practice Reading Comprehension, which includes both passages and Poems. One should also know the synonyms, anonyms, dictionary meanings of different words, and correct grammar usage and their rules.
Mathematics
For scoring well in the Mathematics section, the candidate has to thoroughly study Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Statistic, and Trigonometry.
Logical Reasoning
Section of Logical Reasoning consists of questions like find the odd one, coding & decoding, Data Interpretation, identifying Strong arguments and Weak arguments, identifying next number in series, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, etc.
Group Discussion & Personal Interview
For preparing Group Discussion & Personal Interview, the students should possess current knowledge on various Economic, Business and Technology aspects, which can be gained by reading newspapers, magazines and current affair books.
