MCA Entrance Exam for MAH MCA CET Studies

Government of Maharashtra conducts the Maharashtra State MCA Common Entrance Test (MAH-MCA-CET) through Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra for admission to first year of full-time Postgraduate course in Master in Computer Application (MCA) offered by colleges/universities/institutes in the state of Maharashtra.

Candidates who successfully qualify MAH-MCA-CET can seek admission to the following course:

Eligibility

For appearing to MAH-MCA-CET candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

  • Candidate should have passed Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and should have studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination. OR
  • Candidate should have passed Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline AND have passed Post Graduate degree course of minimum two years duration recognized by the Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with minimum 45% marks in aggregate and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.
  • In case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State the aggregate mark in Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s Degree (qualifying examination) is 40%.
  • Candidates who have appeared the final year examination of three year Bachelor’s Degree in the current year are also eligible for MAH-MCA-CET on condition that they provide evidence of passing the qualifying exam at the time of admission. OR
  • Candidates who have passed the Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration AND have appeared for the final year examination of Post Graduate degree of minimum two years duration in the current year are also eligible for MAH-MCA-CET on condition that they provide evidence of passing the qualifying exam at the time of admission.

Syllabus

MAH-MCA-CET examination comprises of two papers.

Paper I: General Aptitude

The questions in this paper cover: logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, high school mathematics, vocabulary, English comprehension and verbal ability. Question is this paper is similar to the standard of high school (up to the 12th standard).

Paper II: Computer Concepts

The questions in this paper cover: Computer Basics, Data Representation, Computer Architecture, Computer Language and Operating System basics.
