About Us
The American University in Dubai is a private, non-sectarian institution of higher learning founded in 1995. AUD offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees and a Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies. The university's faculty possess appropriate academic credentials. Furthermore, many are or have been practicing professionals of note. In terms of faculty composition, North Americans have the highest representation of any national group. AUD's multi-complex facility has been conceived with the objective of supporting the university's programs (both academic and extra-curricular) to an American standard.

Library :The American University in Dubai Library provides information resources and services to support the instructional programs and educational goals of the university and to support the research and staff development needs of AUD faculty and staff.Total number of books (print & e-books) : 86,127Total number of journals/magazines/newspapers : 364Total number of Computers : 58Total number of online databases : 61Total number of hours opened per week : 88; 92 during finalscomputer Facilities and Resources :Advanced technology supports all aspects of campus operations; most appropriately, the delivery of the university’s academic programs.Specifically, 25 computer labs with both IBM and Macintosh hardware form the basis for instruction in IT, business administration and the applied arts.Two language laboratories serve to enhance teaching effectiveness in the university’s intensive/academic English courses. The BlackboardTM system is deployed to provide instructional support in all courses offered by the university, and students can access it from any location in the world where there is Internet connectivity.Among the software packages that are of special usefulness for M.BA. students in carrying out research for term papers and theses are theStatistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), the MINITAB statistical package, the LINDO package for linear programming, SIMUL8.0 simulation software.Other facilities :All residence halls are located in the northwest corner of the AUD campus within 2-5 minute walk to the academic buildings, library, computer labs, cafeteria, small grocery shop and the outdoor sports facilities that include basketball, tennis & volleyball courts, as well as soccer field and a swimming pool.
