Mount Carmel College of Escalante in Negros Occidental will celebrate its 50th year of foundation this coming February 19, 2011. In preparation for this coming celebration, the community has prepared a series of events. The school launched the jubilee logo last July 16, 2011. The 50th year anniversary of Mount Carmel College is reason to celebrate as it looks forward and faces the challenges of the future. The new era is symbolized and visually represented by the jubilee logo.Guided by the spirit of Mary as inspiration, MCC tries to carry out her virtues; dynamic, compassionate, prophetic, openness, insightful, and committed to service and evangelization. These symbolize the modern MCC and are expressed through the flames in form of the letter “M� on the jubilee logo. The letter “M� is graphically presented in the form of a emerging flame to reflect the fundamental elements of MCC’s everyday living. These are the elements of teaching, research, spirituality, intuition, ingenuity and knowledge and service.MCC also tries to envision a prophetic witnessing of Christian believers. This element is graphically presented by the symbol of the Prophet Elijah standing by our College seal.The anniversary logo also consists of Mount Carmel College’s name in its abbreviated format (MCC), the period of the MCC’s existence (1961-2011) and the graphic treatment of the number “50.�MCC’s 50th Anniversary Steering Committee recognizes the school’s contributions with its theme for the 50th jubilee anniversary celebration, “Committed to evangelization through education,� which will be used extensively along with this new logo. The MCC president, Fr. Eduardo Albino, O.Carm. encourages all Carmelians to use the 50th anniversary logo from July 16, 2010 until July 16, 2011 together with the logo of the college in all forms; including letterhead stationery, envelopes, publications, ads, flyers, posters, etc.
