About Us

The New England Institute lies across three beautiful areas of New South Wales. The Northern Tablelands is part of the Great Dividing Range as it sweeps northwards towards Queensland. To the east of the Tablelands lies the escarpment where high rainfall and rich volcanic soil help form the cool temperate rainforests. Some of these are World Heritage Areas and offer an extensive biodiversity. Fine wool and cattle bring wealth to the region. To the south, lie the slopes, where fertile soils, proud rivers and a temperate climate favour many agricultural pursuits. To the west lie the rich black soil plains - Australia's richest agricultural region.
