About Us

Founded on August 15, 1950 by the bayanihan spirit of the community folks along the lakeshore towns of the province, notably from Morong, Teresa, Baras, Tanay, and Cardona, TCMC was named in honor of Tomas Claudio, a national hero from Morong, who died as a soldier fighting for democracy during the World War I. Among its founding fathers were business and community leaders Jose Angeles, Jose Alegre, Domingo Soriano, Atilano Bautista, Sinforoso Balajadia, Onesimo Soriano Quintin San Miguel, Feliciano Nora and Anacleto Francisco; and educators, like Vitaliano Bernardino, Isabelo Tupas, Monico Mateo and Serapio Cruz. There were other educators, professionals and ordinary citizens who believed in the value of quality education, contributed and served in the early years of the college, like Daniel Francisco, Pedro dela Vega, Rosario San Miguel, and Agripino Constantino, some of who even served as volunteer faculty members. Its raison d’etre is service to the community, through delivery of quality education that is affordable, especially to those who cannot afford to send their children to colleges and universities in Manila.
